Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Research Woven. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must provide an accurate email address, keep your password confidential, and let us know promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the service.

Your content stays yours

You keep all rights to the research content you create or upload: your sources, notes, evidence, claims, manuscripts, datasets, and files. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content only as needed to operate the service for you and the collaborators you invite. We do not claim ownership of your work, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Break the law, including academic integrity rules that apply to you. Research Woven helps you find, check, format, and connect your work; it does not write your argument for you, and you remain responsible for what you submit.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or projects that are not yours, or to probe, scan, or disrupt the service.
• Abuse the email features, upload malware, or use the service to send spam.

Collaboration

When you invite collaborators to a project, they can see and work with the content in that project according to the role you give them. Share access only with people you trust with that material.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and reliable, but we provide it on an as available basis and may change, suspend, or discontinue features. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes that affect you.

Third-party services

The service runs on third-party infrastructure (hosting, database, file storage, and email) and can integrate optional providers such as Google sign-in and an AI formatting feature. Your use of those integrations is also subject to the relevant provider’s terms.

Disclaimers

Research Woven is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for verifying your own citations, claims, and submissions. The tools that check structure and citations are aids, not guarantees of correctness or of acceptance by any journal, committee, or institution.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Research Woven and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost work, or lost opportunities arising from your use of the service. Keep your own backups of work that matters to you.

Termination

You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that put the service or other users at risk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
